Free to Attend Courses from the ISRM

Over the past few years, it has become increasingly clear that while many organisations have frameworks and plans in place, there is still a significant gap when it comes to combining best practice models and practical application.

At ISRM, we have always taken the view that both theoretical knowledge without practical application, and practical experience without an understanding of the theoretical models that underpin it, create vulnerabilities

With that in mind, we are introducing a new series of free-to-attend online training programmes covering key areas of security and risk management.

This approach is not new for us. During the Covid-19 global lockdown, we ran a similar series of free-to-attend programmes which saw over 12,000 participants from across the world. The feedback at the time was that the accessibility and practical focus of the sessions provided genuine value at a point when people needed it most.

Given the nature of the current global environment, we feel that there is once again a need to make this kind of learning available.

Available Programmes:

Level 4 Award in Foundations of Security and Risk Management

Level 5 Award in Terrorism Prevention and Management

Level 5 Award in Corporate Risk and Crisis Management

Level 5 Award in Strategic Planning and Management of Major Events

Delivery Format:

Each programme will be delivered over one week and will consist of five live online sessions of 90 minutes each.

To accommodate different time zones, each session will be delivered twice daily:

• 09:00 – 10:30 BST
• 17:00 – 18:30 BST

Participants who wish to undertake certification will be required to complete a workbook following the course.

Certification Fees:

Certification is for a UK government endorsed academically accredited Ofqual professional qualification. (Certification fees are only applicable to those wishing to apply for the formal academically accredited certification. The course itself is free to attend)

Level 4:

• £160 + VAT (when paying for certification together with course registration)
• £200 + VAT (if certification paid for after start of the course)

Level 5:

• £200 + VAT (when paying for certification together with course registration)
• £250 + VAT (if certification paid for after start of the course)

Programme Availability:

We anticipate running these programmes multiple times over the course of the year. However, rather than committing to a fixed schedule at this stage, we will allow demand to shape the frequency.

Our intention in offering these programmes is not simply to provide training, but to contribute in a practical way to improving standards and supporting professional development across the global sector.
